KEYNOTE TOPIC: Big Data
Many companies are seeing dramatic growth in the variety, velocity, and volume of information being generated by their businesses. Organizations are struggling with how to manage these vast and diverse data sets that include traditional data as well as semi-structured or unstructured data types. These large, untapped data sets define a new category of information – Big Data. Our Keynote speaker, Dennis Smith, Managing Director at BNY Mellon, will present how Big Data is becoming a hot topic in the industry.
The session will also include an interesting presentation from the Pittsburgh Supercomputing Center and a technical overview with a demonstration. Please consider inviting your Data Architect who could contribute and benefit from our discussion.
This will be an in-person event hosted at BNY Mellon and open to all members of WPEAF, past and present. If you know of a company or educational organization not yet a member of WPEAF, there is information below on how to join. We encourage new membership, simply let me know who you are inviting as no press is permitted. Please confirm your attendance by accepting the meeting invite (along with your colleagues that are joining us) so I can add you to the security list for entry to the building.
